With the launch of its YouTube channel at the end of August, the Jewish Welcome Service has added an important element to its social media portfolio. And as before, there are ongoing, updated insights into our diverse activities on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
A video that accompanies Gabriele Anderl on her city walk to places of Jewish life in Vienna-Margareten and lets contemporary witness Heinz Ehlers have his say – that is the latest addition to the new YouTube channel of the JWS. The channel was set up to fittingly document a wide variety of events – such as the recent awarding of the Leon Zelman Prize – to share information or send messages of greeting. The YouTube page can be found at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1mP016OtrXfswE98WF0ybg/
The Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/JewishWelcomeVienna presents the latest media reports on activities in Jewish Vienna. Readers can find the latest photos and short articles here almost daily, as well as event notes, information and opinion pieces on current events, plus reports that accompany and document the trips made by visit groups and guests of the Jewish Welcome Service.
As befits the nature of the medium, the JWS Twitter account https://twitter.com/JWS_Vienna mainly focuses on references to current media publications to do with Jewish life in the city. This channel also follows the activities of the JWS guests.
The JWS Instagram account https://www.instagram.com/jewishwelcomeservice.vienna/ accompanies the other channels with suitable photo galleries and illustrates the topics portrayed there with the occasional snapshot.
