Holocaust survivors from Austria to receive additional benefits
In September, the Austrian federal government decided to provide additional support to all living victims of National Socialism from Austria. By doing so, Austria reaffirms its particular responsibility towards those persecuted by the Nazi regime.

City walk through Jewish Ottakring and Hernals
At the end of June, at the initiative of the Jewish Welcome Service, historians Gabriele Anderl and Evelyn Adunka led a “city walk to places of Jewish life in Vienna” through the districts of Ottakring and Hernals.Read more
Invitation program: Touching meeting in Vienna
In mid-June, a group of over 30 Jews – mostly members of the “Second Generation” – were welcomed in Vienna at the invitation of the Jewish Welcome Service. The visitor program involving generally comprehensive family research also included a reception by City Councilor for Culture Veronica Kaup-Hasler at Vienna City Hall.Read more
Vienna Trips: Enormous demand continues
As ever, there is still huge interest in the Vienna Trips, on which the Jewish Welcome Service has regularly invited young descendants of Shoah survivors since summer 2021. At the moment, however, demand is so great that registration is not currently possible. The offer is supported by the Vienna Tourist Board.Read more

This year’s edition of the magazine “The Jewish Echo” (vol. 71) was published at the end of March. Over 130 pages, the new editor-in-chief Christian Schüller presents a range of perspectives on the topic of flight and expulsion in collaboration with 16 authors.Read more
